Avoid These 7 Common Mistakes in GATE Exam Preparation

Are you gearing up to tackle the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)? As one of the most competitive exams in India, GATE demands thorough preparation and strategic planning. While you may have your study materials and schedule ready, it's crucial to steer clear of common pitfalls that could hinder your success. Here are seven mistakes to avoid during your GATE exam preparation journey: 1. Ignoring the Syllabus: One of the biggest mistakes aspiring GATE candidates make is underestimating the breadth and depth of the syllabus. The GATE syllabus is vast, covering a wide range of topics within your chosen engineering discipline. Skipping certain topics or assuming they won't be tested can be detrimental to your performance. Take the time to familiarize yourself with the entire syllabus and allocate your study hours accordingly. 2. Lack of Time Management: Effective time management is key to GATE exam preparation. Many students make the mistake of procrastinating or allocating unequal time to different subjects. Without a well-structured study plan, you may find yourself cramming in the last few weeks or feeling overwhelmed by the workload. Create a realistic study schedule that allows sufficient time for revision, practice tests, and breaks. 3. Overreliance on Coaching Institutes: While coaching institutes can provide valuable guidance and resources, relying solely on them for GATE preparation can be a mistake. Each student has unique learning needs and pacing. Blindly following a coaching institute's curriculum without supplementing it with self-study and practice can limit your understanding of core concepts. Strike a balance between coaching classes and self-study to maximize your preparation. 4. Ignoring Previous Year Question Papers: Past GATE question papers are invaluable resources for understanding the exam pattern, question types, and difficulty level. Many students overlook the significance of solving previous year papers, opting instead for theoretical study materials alone. By solving these papers, you'll gain insight into recurring topics, identify your strengths and weaknesses, and build confidence for the actual exam. 5. Neglecting Revision and Practice: Simply reading through study materials or attending lectures is not enough to excel in GATE. Regular revision and ample practice are essential to reinforce concepts and improve problem-solving skills. Allocate time for daily revision sessions and solve practice questions from reputable sources. Additionally, simulate exam conditions by taking mock tests to gauge your progress and enhance time management skills. 6. Underestimating Non-Technical Subjects: While GATE primarily tests your technical knowledge, don't overlook the importance of non-technical subjects such as General Aptitude and Engineering Mathematics. Neglecting these sections can cost you valuable marks. Allocate sufficient time to review concepts in these areas and practice questions to improve your proficiency. 7. Neglecting Health and Well-being: Last but not least, prioritizing your health and well-being during the preparation phase is crucial. Long hours of studying coupled with stress can take a toll on your physical and mental health. Make sure to get an adequate amount of sleep, eat nutritious meals, exercise regularly, and take short breaks to rejuvenate your mind. A healthy body and mind will enhance your productivity and performance on exam day. In conclusion, avoiding these common mistakes can significantly improve your chances of success in the GATE exam. Stay disciplined, maintain a positive attitude, and trust in your preparation. With diligent effort and strategic planning, you'll be well-equipped to ace the GATE and unlock a world of opportunities in the field of engineering.

Divide your time wisely among the different sections to avoid any last-minute rush. Begin with Easy Questions: Boost your confidence by tackling the easier questions first. This strategic approach not only enhances your morale but also provides you with a cushion of time to tackle the more challenging ones later. Utilize Rough Sheets Wisely: Make optimal use of rough sheets for solving mathematical problems, sketching diagrams, and jotting down important notes. This organized approach can streamline your thought process during the exam. Check Your Answers: Before final submission, allocate a few minutes to review your answers. Ensure that you haven't left any questions unanswered and that your responses align with your intended choices. Don'ts: Avoid Panicking: One of the gravest mistakes during exams is succumbing to panic. Maintain a calm and focused demeanor throughout the test, enabling you to think clearly and perform at your best. Say No to Cheating: The JEE Main has stringent rules against cheating. GATE examines not only your theoretical understanding of engineering concepts but also your ability to apply those concepts in practical scenarios. One of the common misconceptions is that practical experience does not play a significant role in GATE preparations. It is important to create a study schedule that suits your daily routine and allows for a balanced approach. Break down the syllabus into smaller topics and allocate specific time slots for each topic. Stay committed to your study schedule and stay motivated throughout the preparation journey. The truth about GATE coaching institutes and self-study When it comes to GATE preparations, there has been a long-standing debate about the effectiveness of coaching institutes versus self-study. While coaching institutes claim to provide expert guidance and structured study material, self-study advocates believe in the power of individual effort and resourcefulness.  The truth is, there is no one-size-fits-all answer to this dilemma. The choice between coaching institutes and self-study depends on various factors such as your learning style, time availability, and financial resources.  GATE coaching institutes can be beneficial for those who thrive in a structured learning environment and need guidance in understanding complex topics. They can provide access to experienced faculty, study material, and a peer group for discussions and motivation. However, it is important to note that coaching institutes come with a significant financial cost and may have rigid schedules that might not suit everyone.  On the other hand, self-study allows you the flexibility to customize your study plan according to your strengths and weaknesses. It gives you the freedom to learn at your own pace and explore different learning resources such as online tutorials, textbooks, and study groups. While self-study requires self-discipline and motivation, it can be a more cost-effective option for those on a tight budget. Ultimately, the choice between coaching institutes and self-study depends on your personal preferences and circumstances. It is crucial to evaluate your needs and goals before making a decision. Remember, what matters most is consistency and dedication in your preparations, regardless of the path you choose. Don't underestimate the significance of mock tests Mock tests are an essential part of GATE preparations and should not be underestimated. Many students make the mistake of neglecting mock tests or only taking them sporadically. However, mock tests are an effective way to assess your knowledge, track your progress, and improve your time management skills. Mock tests simulate the actual exam environment, allowing you to familiarize yourself with the format and time constraints. They give you the opportunity to practice solving questions under pressure, which is crucial for performing well on the exam day. Furthermore, mock tests help you identify your strengths and weaknesses in different subjects. By analyzing your performance, you can focus on areas that require more attention and devise a targeted study plan. Make it a habit to take regular mock tests throughout your preparation journey. Set aside dedicated time for solving them, and try to replicate the exam conditions as closely as possible. This will build your confidence and help you perform at your best on the day of the actual GATE exam. To wrap things up: Preparing for GATE with the right mindset Preparing for GATE is not just about studying hard, but also about adopting the right mindset. Many students fall into the trap of negative thinking, doubting their abilities, or succumbing to pressure. However, having a positive and determined mindset is crucial for success in any examination. Believe in yourself and your capabilities. Understand that GATE is a challenging exam, but with the best GATE Coaching institutes in India, right preparation and mindset, you can overcome any obstacles. The Debate Surrounding Necessity or Exaggeration of A Level General Paper Tutoring

Introduction: The A Level General Paper (GP) examination, known for its rigorous assessment of critical thinking and essay writing skills, has long been a subject of debate when it comes to the necessity of tutoring. Students, parents, and educators have varying opinions on whether seeking GP tutoring is essential or an exaggeration. In this article, we'll delve into the ongoing discussion surrounding the need for GP tutoring. The Case for GP Tutoring: Complex Assessment: GP is unlike most other subjects, requiring students to synthesize and analyze information from various sources to construct coherent and persuasive arguments. Tutoring can help students navigate the complexities of this subject. Specialized Guidance: GP tutors often possess expertise in essay writing and critical thinking, providing students with specialized guidance and feedback to improve their skills. As Mr Kelvin Hong of Ace GP Tuition puts it: “Our GP Tuition programme helps students to clearly formulate relevant arguments and flesh them out with highly appropriate real-world examples.”. Time Efficiency: Tutoring can provide a structured approach to GP preparation, saving students time by focusing on the most relevant topics and exam strategies. Increased Confidence: GP tutoring can boost students' confidence, helping them feel more at ease when tackling challenging topics and complex essays. The Case Against GP Tutoring: Independent Learning: Some argue that GP is a subject that encourages independent thinking and learning, and students should not overly rely on tutors. Self-study and practice can be sufficient. Resource Availability: There are many resources available, such as sample essays and past papers, which students can use to prepare for GP without tutoring. Cost Considerations: GP tutoring can be expensive, and not all students or families can afford it. This raises concerns about equity in education. Over-reliance on Tutors: Some argue that excessive tutoring may lead to students becoming overly dependent on tutors, hindering their ability to think critically and write effectively on their own. Finding a Balance: The need for GP tutoring can vary from student to student. It's essential to consider the individual's strengths, weaknesses, and goals. Striking a balance between self-study, resource utilization, and selective tutoring is often recommended. Conclusion: The question of whether students need tutoring in A Level General Paper is a complex one. While tutoring can offer valuable guidance and support, it's not an absolute requirement for success in GP. Each student should evaluate their own abilities, resources, and objectives to determine the best approach to excel in this challenging subject. Ultimately, the goal is for students to develop the critical thinking and writing skills required for GP, whether through self-study, tutoring, or a combination of both.

This involves breaking down your syllabus or study material into manageable chunks and assigning specific timeframes for each topic or subject. Setting achievable goals helps you stay focused, motivated, and on track during your preparation. Create a Study Schedule: Develop a study schedule that outlines specific time slots for each subject or topic you need to cover. Allocate more time to challenging areas while ensuring you have enough time for revision and practice. Prioritizing Topics: Time management allows you to identify and prioritize the most important topics or areas that require more attention and more weightage or are more challenging for you. By understanding the exam pattern, syllabus, and weightage of different topics, you can allocate more time to areas that carry higher marks or have a high level of difficulty. By focusing on the difficult areas first, you can ensure that you have enough time to master them. Prioritizing Questions: Time management enables you to identify and prioritize the questions that you can answer quickly and accurately. By starting with the easier questions, you can build confidence, accumulate marks, and save time for more challenging ones. It helps avoid getting stuck on difficult questions and wasting precious time. Break It Down: Break your study sessions into smaller, manageable chunks. Studying in shorter intervals with regular breaks can enhance your focus and productivity. For example, you can follow the Pomodoro Technique, where you study for 25 minutes and then take a 5-minute break. Maximizing Efficiency: Competitive exams often have multiple sections or subjects to cover, each with a designated time limit. Proper time management allows you to allocate sufficient time to each section based on its weightage or difficulty level. By optimizing your time, you can ensure that you complete all the sections and attempt as many questions as possible. Practice Time-bound Mock Tests: Take regular mock tests to simulate the exam environment and practice answering questions within the given time constraints. This will help you become familiar with the exam format and improve your speed and accuracy. Avoiding Rushing: Rushing through the exam can lead to careless mistakes and a lack of understanding. Effective time management ensures that you have ample time to read and comprehend each question carefully, apply the relevant concepts or techniques, and double-check your answers. It reduces the chances of making avoidable errors. Identify Time-Wasting Activities: Identify activities that consume your time unnecessarily, such as excessive use of social media or getting easily distracted. Limit or eliminate these activities during your study sessions to stay focused and make the most of your time. Use Technology to Your Advantage: Utilize technology tools like mobile apps, online study resources, and time management apps to organize your study materials, set reminders, and track your progress. These tools can help you stay structured and accountable. Take Breaks Wisely: While breaks are essential to rejuvenate your mind and prevent burnout, ensure that you use them wisely. Engage in activities that help you relax and recharge, such as physical exercise, listening to music, or taking a short walk. Avoid activities that may consume more time than planned. Review and Analyze: Regularly review your progress, identify strengths and weaknesses, and adjust your study plan accordingly. This self-assessment will help you allocate time more effectively and focus on areas that need improvement. Managing Anxiety: Time pressure can induce anxiety and stress during competitive exams. By planning and adhering to a time management strategy, you can gain a sense of control over the exam. Knowing that you have allocated appropriate time for each section can help alleviate stress and allow you to focus on the task at hand. Building Stamina: Competitive exams can be lengthy, spanning several hours. Proper time management during your preparation period helps build the stamina required to stay mentally focused and alert throughout the exam. Regular practice with time-bound mock tests enhances your ability to maintain concentration and perform optimally under time constraints. 5 essential tips and tricks for GATE 2024

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is one of the competitive exams administered on behalf of the Ministry of Human Resources Development, National Coordinating Board, and Department of Education by The GATE Committee, faculty members from IISc, and seven other IITs. Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru is the organising institute for the upcoming GATE exam. The exam registration process started on 31st August 2023 and will ended on 20th October 2023. The exam is scheduled for 03, 04 and 10, 11 February 2024. Following the government's announcement that tens of thousands of people will be hired in the federal government over the next 18 months, the ongoing discussion about the examination has become more interesting. Here are some expert-recommended tips and strategies to help aspirants improve their preparation for the GATE 2024 exam: UNDERSTANDING THE EXAM PATTERN AND SYLLABUS: Before beginning exam preparation, aspirants must understand the syllabus and exam pattern. Because the exam pattern is not the same for all disciplines, aspirants must have a thorough understanding of the pattern. Aspirants should also be aware that the exam pattern varies depending on the marks division and segments; only the General Aptitude segment remains consistent across all papers and has a weightage of 15%. To ace the exam, aspirants must also be well-versed in four years of Engineering curriculum. MAKE SHORT-TERM AND LONG-TERM PLANS: In order to manage the extensive syllabus, aspirants must make both short-term (daily) and long-term (fortnightly and monthly) plans. It can be difficult to balance college classes and coaching sessions. As a result, setting realistic daily and monthly goals is the best way to manage this. Furthermore, some topics will necessitate additional time to fully comprehend. As a result, aspirants must set aside time to prepare for these topics. LEARNING TO APPLY CONCEPTS:  Simply memorizing concepts will not help you pass the GATE exam. Aspirants must learn how to apply these concepts. Because the exam contains more numerical questions than theoretical questions, aspirants should attempt as many numerical-based questions as possible to strengthen their conceptual understanding. PRACTICE USING THE VIRTUAL CALCULATOR:  Understanding how to use the Virtual Calculator provided to candidates on the day of the exam is one of the most effective ways to prepare for the GATE exam. Aspirants can avoid unnecessary stress and time waste during the exam by learning how to use the Virtual Calculator ahead of time. REGULAR REVISION: Revision is essential in exam preparation because it allows aspirants to identify their strengths and areas for improvement. An ideal practise cycle is to study a topic for 7 days and then revise it. The next revision can be done after 15 days, followed by another 30 days. Following a cyclical pattern of revision will help aspirants retain information and perform better. While it is critical that aspirants concentrate on their studies, it is also critical that they maintain good mental and physical health. As a result, it is critical that the candidate eats healthy foods, gets enough sleep, and takes regular breaks between study sessions. During such breaks, one can also engage in a hobby to refresh themselves and maintain concentration levels.

Ace your SBI and IBPS PO Interview by following these simple tips

Candidates who pass the written section of any exam must give the interview stage similar weight because the SBI and IBPS PO interviews are soon to come. For consideration for the position of Probationary Officer, a candidate must successfully complete both the written and interview phases. As a result, we are providing you with some very important advice regarding interviews. This will enable you to succeed in any next bank interviews. The panels for SBI and IBPS PO interviews often have 4-5 people on them. The majority of these would be seasoned bank employees, along with one psychologist. Why a psychologist, though? The psychologist is here to watch you and your nonverbal cues. To give you an idea of how significant a part this is, over 70% of our communication with others is done through body language. Within seconds of any interaction, a person can create an opinion of another person, whether consciously or unconsciously. It is crucial that you leave a lasting impression in this situation. How can you then master that other 30% of the conversation? 1. DRESS FOR SUCCESS Being adequately dressed is crucial. Your first impression on potential employers will depend on how you are dressed. It is best to present any candidate in well-groomed, formal attire. Unmade hair, casual attire, and unkempt or mistreated appearances are all severely discouraged. Women can wear a blazer with a light-colored top and light-colored pants and a plain, cotton saree or salwar kameez with a plain dupatta or both. Wear little to no jewellery and makeup. Men should go for a simple, light-colored shirt, dark-colored pants, and a simple tie. Wintertime is a fantastic time to wear a jacket. Make sure your hair is neat, your shoes are polished, and you have a clean shave. Dress accordingly, please. This is crucial for more than simply making a good first impression—it also gives you more self-confidence! 2. PRESENT A STRONG HANDSHAKE We cannot stress this enough. A firm handshake communicates assurance and an approachable personality up for a challenge. Poor handshakes might come across as uninterested, uneasy, and generally give the wrong impression. That's obviously the last thing you want. A solid handshake, on the other hand, will win you lots of favour. 3. Control your posture and your hands. Never slump while you're sitting down. Yes, maintaining proper posture shows that you are alert and enthusiastic. And we can assure you that it makes a big difference. 4. VISUAL CONTACT Maintaining eye contact demonstrates your sincerity and confidence. It implies that you are trustworthy and that you are at ease with yourself and know what you are talking about. Both are highly desirable characteristics in a potential employee. 5. HAVE FAITH IN YOURSELF "Whether you believe you can or believe you can't, you're correct!" Have you ever heard Henry Ford's famous quote? The key to success is believing in yourself. So take a deep breath and go ace that interview! If we can't get you going, we're sure this extra dose of motivation and self-belief will! 6. PERFORM YOUR BANK RESEARCH Conduct extensive research on the bank and the job profile you're interviewing for. Two to three of the interviewer's questions will be about the company and the job profile you're applying for. Before attending the interview, go to the bank's website. 7. Start with reading subjects more like public administration, economics, sociology, etc., as these are some key subjects from the UPSC viewpoint and have practical use in the administrative field. Conquering such subjects can relieve your pressure of selecting an optional subject while appearing for the IAS exam.  3. Start revising NCERT books from class 6th onwards, as these are the basics and a good source of information. These books are important for all your subjects, like economics, history, civics, geography, mathematics, etc. 4. Develop the habit of reading the newspaper daily. Increase your study hours. UPSC exams have a vast syllabus, and one should be persistent with time to cover that much of the syllabus. Don't waste your time; instead, utilize the maximum time you have in studying and revising topics.  7. Start solving previous year's questions and try to match your answers with those written by toppers. This will help you understand the concepts in detail.  8. Try to improve your communication skills as well as your personality. To begin with, you can join some elocution contests or quizzes. This will help you express your thoughts more freely.  9. Physical fitness is also important. Take part in sports to keep yourself occupied and relaxed. Fitness also plays an important role in building personality. Don't take up too many sports; one or two is sufficient, either football or cricket. Swimming would be the best way to relax your body. If possible, try to play chess as it is a good way to use your head.  10. Don't fool around in college or think you have enough time to prepare for the exam. Study as an IAS aspirant and not as a random college kid. Stay focused and remind yourself why you want to be a civil servant. You can also look at IAS topper interviews for that adrenaline rush.  Conclusion  I hope this article helped clear your doubts regarding How to become an IAS officer after the 12th? As I mentioned, you cannot directly appear for the IAS exams right after the 12th. It is the preparation and hard work you can start putting in throughout your journey until you are eligible to take the IAS exams. For students who wish to enrol in undergraduate programmes at any of India's Central Universities, the National Testing Agency (NTA) administers the Common University Entrance Test UG (CUET UG). Candidates must be familiar with the full syllabus and the CUET UG 2022 exam format in order to adequately prepare for this exam. Let's take a look at some of the preparation strategies that can help a student pass the exam:   1) Make a timeline CUET 2022 is no different from other exams in that it necessitates a certain level of discipline. Students should create a schedule that allots the appropriate amount of time for preparation. The preparation time should be further divided into the various themes and areas that need to be covered.   As a result, the student's preparation will be as effective as possible given the little amount of time available. Additionally, there should be allotted time for leisure pursuits because the brain requires a brief period of relaxation.   2) Examine the test The curriculum should be printed out or made into an excel sheet by the students. They should carefully consider this before beginning to prioritise subjects and ideas based on the weight of their marks. The student will be able to identify the crucial topics that will get them the highest grades and focus the majority of their time on trying and mastering those.   However, it should be highlighted that every subject, chapter, unit, and idea must be covered. This is necessary because the exam paper covers the full syllabus and is not just based on the crucial subjects. The key to passing this exam is to cover the full syllabus.   3) Recognise the pattern The most useful information about most exams can be found in exam patterns. They can assist a candidate in comprehending the types of questions answered, the scoring system, significant themes, and the importance assigned to each issue. When taking the exam, being aware of this may be advantageous.   4) Gather the research materials. The most pertinent books and study resources should be gathered by students. These ought to include a wide range of subjects, including language, general knowledge, current events, logical reasoning, and aptitude for math.   5) Exercise a lot. Students should make the most of their time by practising and reviewing what they have learned now that the foundation for preparations has been established. The most accurate technique to determine a candidate's level of readiness is through mock exams and practise exams. Many students have little issue picking up new information quickly, but they struggle to retain it when the test is over.   This problem can be resolved by practising the questions from prior exams and finishing practise papers. Timing the responses can also help you mentally prepare for the exam. Revision aids in re-enforcing the subjects in a student's head. Making notes on all the significant themes is crucial for candidates so they may quickly review them rather than reading the entire chapter and covering more material.

Difference between Banking and SSC Exams

SSC Combined Graduate Level examination: is a gateway for those who have completed their bachelor’s and wish to work in the government sector. The exam is conducted in 3-Tiers namely, Tier I(Preliminary) Tier II (Mains) Tier-III( Descriptive test), and Tier IV (Data Entry Skill Test / Computer Proficiency Test). The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection [IBPS] conducts recruitments for major governments banks for a range of positions such as Bank PO, etc. Out of this, the IBPS PO is rated as one of the most popular Bank exams in India. Its popularity ranks alongside that of the NDA exam, RRB exams and even UPSC exams. It consists of three stages, namely, IBPS PO Preliminary, IBPS PO Mains and the final Interview. Syllabus: The syllabus of both Bank and SSC is similar in terms of subjects that includes (Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, English, and General Awareness) in common, but if compared topic-wise, the syllabus for both the exams differs. The reasoning part of bank exams is tougher than the SSC exam as it more concept based. Though the Quantitative Aptitude Section is almost the same for both exams, candidates preparing for SSC CGL need to focus more on conceptual topics like trigonometry, Algebra, etc. Bank exams, especially for PO posts, give more importance to computer aptitude section, which is not the case with SSC. The English section of both Bank and SSC are of the same level. SSC focuses more on the usage of language and cover topics like idioms, spotting the error, synonyms and antonyms, etc. Whereas, Bank throes more questions on vocab and grammar. Topics like syllogism and reading comprehension are given more weightage in banking exams. Candidates can check English for competitive exams for assistance. Knowledge of Current Affairs and General awareness is important in every competitive exam. However, coverage of topics may differ. Bank exam focusses more on Banking awareness, current affairs on Economy and finance, trending issues related to banking. In contrast, the SSC general Awareness or current affairs section covers questions more on Static GK. Complete Comparison: Bank PO vs SSC Jobs Bank PO Job Profile: A bank PO is a slightly more exciting job. The following list displays the duties of a Bank PO job: Provide service to the customers. Enhancement of business of the Bank. Management of accounts of customers. Customer service. (Official communication) It’s a target-based job. Work pressure is high as compared to SSC but more exciting. Issue management related to customers. SSC Job Profile: As an SSC officer, a candidate starts work from scratch. Hence, the work expectations are as follows: Clerical work like answering RTI queries. General administration work as a start. Make notes and filing work. Get to do field jobs that involve travelling. Get to put in work in the development of nationwide policies by looking after bank office work. Carry out inspections, raids, surveillance etc. Bank PO work pressure: High work pressure as a Bank PO deals with people directly. As a starter pack work included for bank PO is administrative tasks, general banking or any other task bestowed by the management. As a Bank PO, a candidate has to go through a rigorous training session before performing the regular duties; the sessions include marketing, billing, investment, finance, accounting, human resource, general banking, agricultural banking etc. SSC work pressure: The SSC job is more relaxed in comparison to a Bank PO job. An SSC staff gets to work on different tasks such as Administrative Task, supervision or any other tasks as asked by the senior official. SSC jobs ensure an excellent work-life balance. Sometimes in SSC, there may be situations that demand employees to work during elections etc. There is no customer interaction in an SSC job. Bank PO transfer: A transfer is likely to take place once every 2-3 years. Transfer happens on the basis of seniority or promotion. SSC transfer: A transfer takes place once every 4-5 years. Transfers as per the requirement of different government departments. Bank PO Salary: As a Bank PO job is a transferable job so most of the time a Bank PO has to incur additional expenses in relocation and covering other expenses. The Bank PO salary is about 38,000-42,000/- per month. A Bank PO receives extra perks in addition to his/her Bank PO salary. SSC Salary: SSC salary is subject to revision under the 7th pay commission. The salary of an SSC employee is roughly between 39,000-45000/- in hand. Bank PO future growth: Promotions happen once every 2-3 years, which gives better growth aspects to a Bank PO. SSC future growth: Promotions of an SSC employee happen once in 4-5 years. For instance, An Auditor becomes a Senior Auditor in 3-4 years.   Some more basic comparison: Nature of Job: You will end up in a Government job after CGL whereas banks are PSU’s. Clearing SSC CGL generally provides jobs with no public dealing involved, lesser pressure, and in turn, decent work-life balance whereas banks will overwhelm you with work. There are frequent transfers in banks, low salary in clerical cadre, high pressure from management, a constant fear that the banks may get privatized in the future, the financial risk associated with the job. The work-life balance isn't up to the mark. (This is what I have seen happening with people I know who work with Banks, heard, and formed an opinion of). If you want to remain in the public and serve them then bank should be the choice. Level of Competition: No doubt there is cutthroat competition these days (Thanks to the ever-rising unemployment in the nation). Bank exams have a lesser competition since there are numerous exams coming up each year,( bank PO and clerk and insurance sector exams) whereas the CGL exam is a hard nut to crack these days. Either you get to write the exam after years or you just don't get results for years. Hardcore SSC aspirants thus remain in the loop of consecutive exams leading to higher competition. Banks have an edge here with time-bound completion of processes, numerous opportunities, and faster joinings. Job Location: Except for a few job profiles most of the jobs after SSC CGL provide you a posting in city areas whereas there is a high probability of home posting/rural posting as a bank employee. You might struggle for home posting with CGL or you may end up spending years in a rural area while in a bank. Power and respect- as far as power is concerned SSC has an edge over banking. While , in banking you don't have enough power untill you reach at management posts. Both are reputed jobs and have fair share of respect in the society. Work timing- work timing is fixed for SSC posts and bank clerks. But, it is not fixed for a bank po. So , again SSC has an edge over this. Joining and selection process- banking is way ahead of SSC in this regard. Banking exam is smooth , free from any protest, cheating, normalisation issue, court case and joining process is very quick too. But, SSC process is lethargic, full of faults in question papers, surrounded by cheaters, protests, court cases and full of student’s grievances. It tests the patience of a student to the fullest and every year from filling of exam form to final allotment, it is highly time taking, adds to frustration and yet SSC remains adamant throughout the process. So, if you want to test your patience, family support and relatives level of questions regarding your job, then go for SSC. Vacancies- this is a cause of concern for banking aspirants. Every year vacancies are getting reduced while SSC has atleast 10k vacancies every year.

Importance of quizzes and Mock Test

Mock tests & quizzes are orchestrated to give understudies a vibe of the genuine test. For the greater part of the understudies going to take a significant test without precedent for their lives, mock tests give a preliminary attempt. Being put in a similar circumstance and feeling a similar measure of pressing factor before the genuine competitive test will teach some self-scientific limit and trust in the understudy. Whereas, Mock Test helps in lessening pre-test anxiety, as the applicant has effectively shown up for a rendition of the test previously, on the last day he will be more loose. Most understudies getting ready for cutthroat tests do as such in parts, units and areas. Before the finish, all things considered, they accept they are good to go to take the competitive test. Yet, on the final test day, regularly everything once educated is forgotten in the glimmer of a second. This happens in view of an inclination to belittle the durability of the inquiries and the extent of the schedule in a joint manner. For competitive test correction is critical to recollecting all that you have contemplated. Numerous endeavours of Mock Test & quizzes help understudies re-examine the whole schedule in the mimicked setting of the real test. This way they recollect what they have realized and perform well in genuine tests. tests & quizzes make understudies acquainted with the style and extent of the inquiry paper. Figuring out how to complete the test on time is truly difficult. Mock tests assist them with time usage which, in itself, is a large portion of the work done. The applicant is allowed the opportunity to chip away at this issue and transform it into one of their qualities. In the wake of taking a few counterfeit tests, the understudy is in a situation to chip away at his shortcomings and to chalk out an arrangement to conquer. These are aimed at helping students prepare efficiently and they are vital because of the practice they provide . Candidates who attempt mock tests regularly are more viable to succeed in their exams than others. Quizzes & Mock tests are very important for all those students who are appearing in any competitive exam. They are similar trial exams taken before any final exam. It is just like a trailer of a movie before watching a movie. It helps us to assess our own preparation. Many times mock tests are prepared by the teachers who are very experienced and they follow the same pattern and questions so it makes us study in the right direction. It is said that "practice makes a man perfect". So it is one one of the ways which leads a student to perfection.   Any exam preparation is incomplete without practicing the topics you are studying. For getting the best results, you need to test your preparation. Practicing mock tests provides a better perspective of what kind of questions will appear in the exam. They also help in improving the score in competitive exams. Mock tests are replicated tests based on the annual or competitive exam’s pattern. The main objective behind conducting online test series is to judge the potential of students before writing the actual exam. Following are the few significant benefits of mock tests: Gives good practice: Practice tests offer a good amount of practice to students, which helps them during the exam. Practicing mock tests increases the speed of problem-solving and helps the students know in which subject he or she is weak. Accordingly, students can have an idea about the time he or she should allow for numerical as well as theory questions. Mock tests will help you to understand the syllabus, pattern and type of questions asked .Many students struggle with management of time while attempting a paper. These mock tests help with efficient management of time and that itself lessens a student's burden by half .You can chart out which areas you're weak at and also the strong ones. This will help you work on your weaknesses into and chart out a plan to overcome the weak side . Many candidates know the answer of the question at hand but end up losing marks because of inefficient management of time. They find difficulty in attempting all the questions within the given time difficulty in attempting all the questions with absolute accuracy in the given time. Clear doubts: While solving the mock tests, students can mark questions in which they have doubts and get them cleared from teachers. This ensures by the time students appear for the main exam, he or she does not have any doubt. Gives a feeling of actual exam: With mock tests, students get familiarized with the actual exam scenario. These practice tests are conducted under-stimulated conditions with an aim to evaluate the knowledge of students. Therefore, students should take this test seriously. Help reduce nervousness and exam related anxiety: They help in reducing the nervousness these exams bring along. A student who has regular touch with these mock tests will find themselves handling the actual exam in a relaxed manner .Even candidates with full preparation lose amrks because they black out during the exam . Mock tests will in a way help you avoid that by familiarizing you with the real exam environment. Rigorous practice will make candidates ready for the exam and boost their confidence. Help identify stengths and weaknesses: Once you have prepared everything and even while you are halfway through preparation it is essential to keep a check of how far you have come and what else is left to complete. Sp appearing for Mock Tests can help you understand the level of your preparedness.Candidates who attempt a lot of mock tests will evntually get an idea of what their strong and weak points are.If you're good at a certain section use up that time preparing for. Helps revise all that you have learnt: Candidates tend to forget topics they learnt earlier as they proceed with the syllabus. Regularly parctising mock tests will allow you to keep a track of all that you have learnt and keep you in touch with those things.Brush up all the things you have learnt by practising them on regular basis through mock tests.

Difference Between JEE Main And JEE Advanced

Difference Between JEE Main and JEE Advanced JEE Main is the eligibility test for appearing in JEE Advanced. From 2019, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is in charge of conducting the JEE Main. JEE Advanced will be conducted by IITs under the direction of the Joint Admission Board (JAB) on a reasonable basis. JEE Advanced is only open to the top 2,50,000 candidates in JEE Main, including those from restricted categories. Candidates can only take the JEE Advanced exam twice in a row. Students can take the JEE Main examination three times in a row. For JEE Advanced, there is no set exam pattern. NTA establishes a clear test format for JEE Main. Opted Subjects As per the JEE main eligibility, the candidates appearing for JEE Main must have studied at least five subjects in their 10+2 or other qualifying examinations with Physics and Mathematics as mandatory subjects. While considering the five subjects, the candidates must have studied Language and an elective like Music, Physical Education, Informatics Practises, Drawing, etc, apart from the MPC subjects(Maths, Physics, and Chemistry). AP Exam Overview

Advanced Placement (AP) is a program in the United States created by the College Board which offers college-level curricula and examinations to high school students. American colleges and universities may grant placement and course credit to students who obtain high scores on the examinations. What is an Advanced Placement – AP Exam? AP Exam consist of multiple-choice questions and essay questions. Most exams are two to three hours long. It’s a test of everything you learn in your AP class. You earn college credits if you pass the AP exam at the end of the year in May. APs are scored between 1 and 5. A score of 5 shows that you are more advanced in a subject than 85-90% of students. This helps you to build a more remarkable college application. If you score a 3 or anything above that in an AP exam, chances are you can receive credits/advanced placement or both from your college. Almost all colleges and universities in the United States, as well as many institutions in more than 60 other countries, grant credit and placement for AP scores or acknowledge AP scores in the admission process. How does AP act as credit in a US college? One huge and vital difference with AP is you can get credits for university depending on the university and subject. A student can go directly into the second year in some subjects. The financial implications of this can be significant. For example, one student at CDL once got 5 APs in relevant subjects that all contributed to the equivalent of the entire 1st year of college study. So, while the IB Diploma is increasingly recognised and well-regarded in the USA, APs do offer the advantage of being able to cut out some of the financial burdens of studying there. However, this shouldn’t be a reason to encourage students to do AP courses if they are not academically ready for this level of study as the college will also look at their Grade Point Average (GPA). If the student doesn’t do well in an AP course, it can significantly affect the weighting of their GPA. Is the AP well-respected by Universities/Colleges outside the USA? Yes, many universities in Europe and the UK recognise and highly regard the AP. It’s important to note though, that while in the USA it is rare that a college will specify which APs and how many you need to enter a certain course of study, in Europe many universities will require a certain amount and specific ones too. The grades are important also. For example, British universities tend to offer conditional offers, equating APs to A-Levels, but often stipulating that the student needs to achieve a four. The Russell Group universities may require 3 AP’s with the highest grade, a five. Why might the AP be a good choice of study? As has already been mentioned, if a student intends to go to college in the USA, it is important to note that AP subjects can be used to gain credit in particular courses of study. Iif they receive a grade 3 or higher, t If they achieve they can go straight into 2nd-year courses in this subject. Why should I take an AP exam? More than 18,000 schools in 115 countries use the AP Program. Top colleges and most four-year universities in the U.S. accept qualifying AP Exam scores for college credit and advanced placement. Nearly all leading universities in Canada and the U.K. recognize AP for admission, credit or placement. For all colleges that accept the exams as class credit, makes it possible to graduate college in a shorter amount of time, saving your money. AP exams demonstrate real academic interest in a certain subject. For example, if you are an engineering aspirant, taking AP Calculus and AP Physics and passing the exams proves to a college admissions committee that you are serious about engineering and have the skills to pursue it. If you are interested in political science taking AP US History, AP US Government, would show strong preparation for those topics. A high school student already has a big to-do list and recommending him one more series of the exam would certainly look like a punishment. But let’s consider few points here, if the performance in studies and other school curriculums is average but the student has deep aspirations to do his majors then AP exams would be the best option to explore. Admission officers prefer considering students who willingly take on college level courses at such a young age. Know more about the significance of AP Exam Even if the GPA is not upto the mark of college’s eligibility criterion, an application with AP on its transcripts holds a better chance with admission officers, who value the enthusiasm of the student to take on the challenges of college- level course work and expectations as a priceless possession. By taking the AP you are building the skill set required for an enhanced performance in your undergraduate studies. Next challenge is to choose the right subject for AP exam, let’s have a look at the list of AP Courses: Art History Biology Calculus AB Calculus BC Chemistry Chinese Language and Culture Computer Science A Macroeconomics Microeconomics English Language and Composition English Literature and Composition Environmental Science European History French Language and Culture German Language and Culture Government and Politics – Comparative Government and Politics – US Human Geography Italian Language and Culture Japanese Language and Culture Latin Music Theory Physics 1 (Note this is new in 2014-15 and replaces AP Physics B) Physics 2 (Note this is new in 2014-15 and replaces AP Physics B) Psychology Spanish Language Spanish Literature Statistics Studio Art Drawing Studio Art 2D Design US History World History What are the benefits for an Indian student taking an AP exam? There are many benefits for an Indian student taking AP Courses and Exams. Taking AP courses helps students stand out in the college admissions process, by demonstrating to admission officers that they have sought the most rigorous curriculum available to them. Universities around the world look favourably upon students who take AP courses and exams because performance in AP demonstrates a student’s commitment and ability to succeed at university-level studies. AP Exams enable students to earn college credit or advanced placement before they even start college, which can enable them to graduate early (students can sometimes save as much as a year at college), save tuition, pursue a double major, move into upper-level courses sooner, gain time to travel abroad, or complete an internship. Over 90 per cent of universities across the U.S. offer credit, advanced placement or both, on the basis of successful AP Exam scores. Additionally, all leading universities in Canada and the UK recognize AP for admission, credit or placement, as do many European universities. Credit policies differ by college, so students should understand the policies of the colleges they are interested in. To view credit policies for US colleges, students can visit www.collegeboard.org/apcreditpolicy and to check AP policies at universities outside the US, visit www.collegeboard.org/apintl. The AP Program recognizes high school students who have demonstrated outstanding college-level achievement through AP courses and exams, with the AP Scholar Awards (non-monetary). Indian students also have the opportunity to earn the Advanced Placement International Diploma (APID), by achieving a score of 3 or higher in 5 or more AP Exams. Succeeding in AP Exams can also help students earn academic scholarships and awards from colleges and universities directly. AP can help a student illustrate his or her competence in a particular field of study and can also give students an opportunity to study a subject that they are interested in, but not able to study at their school. Some students take AP Exams to complete their General Education requirements at university. AP courses and exams help students develop the critical thinking, reasoning, problem solving and communication skills that are essential for success in college and beyond. This is especially important in the Indian context, as the studying methodology in schools following the Indian curriculum, can sometimes be very different from what has practised abroad. Universities across the world recognize the AP Program, and AP Exams are taken by students in more than 120 countries. A score of 5 in an AP Exam is interpreted the same way, whether that student is from Nairobi, New Delhi or New York. Hence, AP Exams also allow Indian students to provide a score from a standardised and globally recognised academic program in their college applications.
