  1. Regional Institute of Medical Science, Lamphelpat, Imphal — Manipur: The Regional Institute of Medical Science came in to existence in the year 1972.
  1. Popular as Regional College of Medical Science, its campus is situated in the beautiful landscape of Lamphelpat of Manipur.
  2. As an institution, it has always achieved outstanding reputation for imparting quality education. As its affairs are under the management of "North Eastern Regional College Society", the institute has the massive 1074 bedded hospital-cum-teaching faculty.

  1. Tezpur University: Tezpur University was founded in 1994 by an act of the Indian Parliament in Tezpur, in the north-eastern state of Assam.

  1. Gauhati University: Gauhati University (GU) is the oldest and largest university in North-East India, established in 1948 under the Gauhati University Act, 1947, passed by the State Legislature of Assam.

  1. North-eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) — Meghalaya: NEIGRIHMS was set up as an institution for imparting Post-graduation courses in Medical science in Shilong of Meghalaya.
  1. Feeling the necessity for the elite institution like AIIMS in north-eastern states, the Ministry of Health & Family welfare decided to establish this institution. This was registered as a society on 12th January, 1987 by the Registrar of Societies.

Right from the day of its inception, it has functioned as an institution imparting excellent training to the students in handling super-speciality apparatus and the latest in technology in Medical Science. As it has functioned excellently over the years, it received the rare distinction of being the "Centre of excellence" in the world of medical fraternity on 3rd January, 2007 by the Parliament of India. Presently offering various courses at graduation, Post-graduation, and Post-Doctoral levels, the institution has now a rare status in India and abroad as a Medical College.
  1. Indian Institute Of Technology Guwahati: IIT Guwahati is one of the country’s best universities. Over the years, IIT Guwahati, which has the designation of Institute of National Importance, has demonstrated excellence in academics, science, and placements. IIT Guwahati was established in 1994, and academic programs at the premier institute began in 1995.

  1. National Institute Of Technology: In 1967, the Regional Engineering College (REC) of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar was established. Guwahati University granted the College affiliation to begin its academic program.
  1. The National Institute of Technology Act of 2007 added it to the list of NITs in 2002, and it was also designated as an Institute of National Importance.
  2. Engineering, technology, humanities, and 11 other departments are among the undergraduate and postgraduate programs offered at NIT Silchar. Admission to the institute’s various courses is determined by national-level entrance exams such as JEE Main, GATE, CAT, and NET.
  1. Assam Medical College — Assam: Dr. John Berry White was the first British surgeon in India, who set up the first medical school in Assam. Named as "Berry White Medical School", the institution came up at Dibrugarh in the year 1898-99. After independence, this institution became "Assam Medical College". Till today, this college remains the top-most institution in teaching medical science to students.
  1. Right from the days of its inception, the college has produced more than 7500 medical graduates.
  2. At present, it could accommodate up to 170 students in MBBS every year.

  1. Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences, Gangtok — Sikkim: The foundation of Sikkim Manipal University was laid with the sole intention of bridging the gap between education and skill development.

  1. Agartala Government Medical College — Tripura: The Agartala Government Medical College has its campus inside the new premises of G.B. Pant Hospital.
