The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) is a leading graduate school of management in Asia. Under the IIM Act of 2017, IIMB is an Institute of National Importance.

IIMB has 106 full time faculty members, about 1200 students across various degree-granting programmes and nearly 5000 annual Executive Education participants.

Our logo carries a proclamation in Sanskrit, तेजस्वि नावधीतमस्तु (tejasvi navadhitamastu), which translates as ‘let our study be enlightening’. Our degree granting programmes comprise the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), the Master of Management Studies (Public Policy), the Master of Business Administration – one-year fulltime, the Master of Business Administration – two years (weekend), the Master of Business Administration – two years fulltime, and the Master of Business Administration (Business Analytics) – two years fulltime

We offer the NS Ramaswamy Pre-doctoral (NSR Pre-doc) Fellowship, as a Certificate programme, with the aim to increase social diversity of management academia in India.

Along with 11 disciplinary areas, we have ten centres of excellence that offer courses and conduct research on interesting questions facing various sectors of industry.

We have key partnerships and collaborations with Goldman Sachs for women entrepreneurship, with Michael and Susan Dell Foundation for incubation of non-profits, and with NITI Aayog for scaling up of new ventures.

We are committed to make deep social impact using technology-enabled education. Towards this end, we offer Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). We are the first management school in India to offer MOOCs on the edX platform. We are also the coordinating institute for management education for SWAYAM, GoI’s online education platform.

We have taken several steps to meet the vision set for IIMB. These include hiring high quality faculty, enhancing the quality of research, emphasizing internationalization, expanding our activities in the field of entrepreneurship, in both research and mentoring, scaling up in terms of student intake in all the programmes, deepening our engagement with the alumni, improving infrastructure, and improving administration and governance.

We have been accredited by the EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) for period of five years in 2016. EQUIS is a global school accreditation system run by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) that specializes in higher education institutions of management and business administration.The five-year accreditation, highest that EQUIS confers, is a testimony to the fact that the evaluating team was confident about our ability to sustain efforts undertaken to achieve excellent standards in education, internationalization and research.

About the Programme

The doctoral programme of the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) leading to a PhD is recognized as a rigorous research programme in various areas of business management and public policy. The doctoral programme is committed to training individuals to excel in their chosen areas of research and produce publication-quality work of international standards.

Duration of the Programme

Students are expected to complete the doctoral programme within 5 years of registering for the programme.

Eligibility

Candidates should have:

• A Master's Degree (bachelor’s degree obtained in 10+2+3 pattern, followed by a master’s degree ) or a 5 year Integrated Master’s Degree (obtained after completing higher secondary schooling in 10+2 pattern) in any discipline, with at least 55* # percent marks in the bachelor’s as well in the master’s degrees.

• A professional qualification like CA, ICWA, CS, with at least 50* # percent marks.

• A 4 year / 8 semesters Bachelor's degree (10+2+4 pattern) with at least 6.5 CGPA or equivalent marks.

 

Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP) 2022-23

Admission Procedure

The Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP) is a full time one year residential programme. The EPGP admission process starts with the submission of the online application form. The basic criteria for applying to the programme include

Graduation* in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). Applicants from SC ,ST and PwD categories should have a minimum of 45% or equivalent CGPA. [*Applicant/s who have not undergone any Bachelors Degree but completed their CA/ICWA/CS after Class XII, are also eligible to apply for EPGP 2022.

Reservations: The Institute will follow reservation for EWS, NC-OBC, SC, ST and PWD in accordance with the law.

Placements

IIM Bangalore is regarded as one of the best B-Schools in India and Central Asia. Aside from its great learning experience, the institute is also known for its high ROI. IIM Bangalore’s flagship MBA program costs around INR. 23 LPA while the Average CTC bagged by its students often stands above INR. 25 LPA.

The MBA (PGP) batch of 2019-21 witnessed a 100% placement record as 435 students bagged over 481 placement offers within the first two days of the interview process. Consulting and Product Management domains provided the majority of placements.

Some of the top recruiters during the 2021 placement drive were- McKinsey and Company, Boston Consulting Group, Kearney, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Tata Consultancy Services, Alvarez and Marsal, Arthur D. Little, IBM Consulting, and etc.

The institute has released its PGP + PGPBA summer internship placement report for the batch 2020-22 and 100% students were provided internship opportunities.

Scholarships

1. Aditya Birla Scholarship: This merit-based scholarship is given to PGP students of both the first and the second years. The students who are granted the scholarship during the first year are eligible to apply for renewal in the second year, provided they belong to the top 25% of the batch in the first year. The scholarship amount is INR 1.75 lakh per student.

2. OPJEMS Scholarship: This merit-based scholarship is given to PGP student of second year .The first ten toppers of 2nd year based on the academic performance in the first year are eligible to apply Basis of online test conducted by OP Jindal Group  one student of each academic year will be awarded. The scholarship amount is INR 1.50 lakh

3. Citi Women’s Leader Award: This is a merit scholarship that covers the second year’s tuition expenses. Candidates are selected from the top 25% of the batch at the end of the first year. Nomination is done by the institute and the students are selected on the basis of their Statement of Purpose and subsequent interviews scheduled by Citi Group.

4. Societe Generale Global Solution Centre India Scholarship: This is a means scholarship that covers tuition expenses in full. Candidates are selected from the neediest applicants in the first year and subsequent interviews conducted by Societe Generale.

5. Siddhartha Padam Award: This scholarship is awarded to a PGP student who is on the Director’s Merit List and gets the highest CGPA in the Economics, Finance & Accounting core courses in the first year. It carries a cash prize of INR 50,000, a medallion and a certificate.

6. IIMB PGP Alumni First Batch (1976) Scholarship: This scholarship is given to a differently-abled woman student from PGP. The scholarship aims to assist a differently-abled female student (or a differently-abled male student, if there is no eligible female student). It keeps alive the memory of the PGP batch of 1976 and their association with the institute. The scholarship carries a purse of INR 75000, a medallion and a certificate.

7. Runwal Education Trust Scholarship: This scholarship is given to a PGP student based on a combination of academic performance in the 1st year and the student’s financial need. The scholarship carries a purse of INR 100000, a medallion and a certificate.

8. Hindustan Unilever / T Thomas Scholarship: This merit-cum-means scholarship is given by HUL to one PGP second-year student. The scholarship of INR 1 lakh

9. Yes Bank Scholarship: This scholarship of INR 2 lakhs is open to students who are among the top 20 students as per the admission criteria, belong to the top 20% of the batch based on the current CGPA and are members of at least one student committee.

10. NTPC Scholarship Scheme: The scholarship amounts to INR 48,000 per year. Students who belong to SC/ST/PwD categories and are in their second year of management studies, having passed the first-year examination in one attempt, are eligible for the scholarship.

11. Employment in Social Sector Scholarship: This scholarship reimburses the recipient one-third of the fees at the end of each year of work for the first three years in the social sector.

12. Ministry of Tribal Affairs Scholarship (ST): The Ministry of Tribal affairs, Government of India invites applications for the National Scholarship for Higher Education for Scheduled Tribe students of PGP first year. This is a means scholarship that covers tuition expenses in full.

13. Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Scholarship (SC): The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Government of India invites applications for the National Scholarship for Higher Education for Scheduled Caste students from Meritorious SC students PGP first year. This is a means scholarship that covers tuition expenses in full.

14. Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Department of Persons with Disabilities (PwD):

A person with disability having not less than 40% disability and having a disability certificate issued by any competent medical authority. This is a means scholarship is 2,55,000 per year.

Apart from above scholarships, students can also apply for other State Government Scholarships routed, through financial aid and scholarship office.
