Top Indian Universities in QS World University Rankings 2024

June 29, 2023

QS World University Rankings 2024 has been released recently. The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore is ranked 225th internationally in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2024, down from 155th previous year. IIT Bombay has supplanted the institution as the best university in India.

According to the Education Ministry's NIRF rankings, IISc Bangalore is the finest university in India and the second-best overall institution for providing higher education.

The reduced weightage given to the faculty-to-student ratio, one of the Indian Institute of Science's strengths, contributed to its lower ranking (225th) in the reset methodology. This version reduces the weight of this indicator by 50%. Three new indicators have also been included, which is a progression for this esteemed institution.

With the University of Delhi (ranked 407th) and Anna University (ranked 427th) making their debuts in this tier, India may now be proud of having two more entries in the top 500 institutions in the world, according to an official statement from QS.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay is currently ranked first in India and 149th worldwide, up from 172 previous year.
This year, IIT Delhi dropped to position 197. It was listed as 174th in the most recent rankings. IIT Delhi now holds the third-place spot in the nation because to IISc's fall from first to third.

Three additional IITs were included among the top 300 universities worldwide, although they have all lost ground.
