Central Universities Common Entrance Test

January 29, 2022

CUCET 2022: The Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) is a national-level exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and used by several centrally-funded universities for admission to different programmes offered by them.

Why CUCET?

In India, CUCET 2022 is the most prestigious entrance exam held once a year, with a high chance of admission into UG courses after passing the exam. Under Central Universities, there are various courses offered at the graduation level, such as BBA, BA, and B.Com. Students must decide which program they want to pursue as their career.

Universities run by the central government have a vast array of possibilities for educating students. All the Central Universities offer vast placement opportunities, and if candidates want to work after graduation, they have good packages to choose from.

How does the CUCET selection process work?

A candidate who has successfully attempted CUCET 2022 and cleared the exam has to attend a counseling session. All of the qualifying candidates are invited to this session, and seats are awarded on a merit-based system.

Counselling for CUCET happens individually at every Central University for the selected candidates. If the candidate’s name is on the counselling session’s list, he/she will be invited by the CUCET consortium. Then, on registering on the official website, the login credentials are given to the candidate. Candidates who are called for offline counseling must report to the University campus and attend the session.

NTA CUCET 2022 will be offered in multiple languages

As per an earlier report, the CUCET will be held in multiple languages, minister of state for education, Subhas Sarkar told the Rajya Sabha on December 15, 2021. During the winter session, the ministry of education told parliament that the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) will be conducted in the scheduled languages.

In these scheduled languages, the NTA has already conducted National Eligibility Cumulation Entrance Exam (NEET-UG), Joint Engineering Entrance Exam (JEE) Main and All India Sainik School Entrance Examination (AISSEE) 2021.
